Personalized nutrition and wellness

Consult your genes to help determine the best diet for you.

What is a genetic predisposition?

Genetic predispositions reflect the statistical likelihood that you will develop a certain trait. Essentially, they can tell you which diet or exercise plans will be most beneficial for you and which could potentially be dangerous.

What is nutrigenomics?

Nutrigenomics uses information about your DNA to create a diet that caters to your specific needs. After your DNA is processed and analyzed, your genetic predispositions are used to design a personalized nutrition plan for you.

What is the difference between nutrigenetics and nutrigenomics?

Nutrigenetics is your genetics: how you biologically respond to the food that you are eating. SNPs (single nucleotide polymorphisms) are responsible for variations in how our bodies process food.

Nutrigenomics is the personalized diet designed for you. Based on your genetic variations, you can determine which nutrients are missing from your diet or what foods to avoid.

What is a SNP?

As humans, we share 99.9% of our DNA. The 0.1% that varies from person to person is made up of SNPs. SNPs are single nucleotide polymorphisms, or changes in DNA building blocks. Silverberry uses these changes to determine your unique genetic traits.

What is an RS number?

RS numbers refer to the specific SNPs that may be preventing you from processing certain nutrients. Put another way, they are specific locations on specific genes that influence how you digest certain foods.
