The online course uses a learning-by-example method of teaching that makes the course approachable for fitness professionals and enthusiasts without a genetics background.

San Francisco, May 29, 2018 – Silverberry Genomix, a pioneer in a pioneer in DNA Wellness and Health Services, announced the launch of an online course for anyone who is interested in using genetic assessment in fitness planning.

Silverberry announced a set of DNA reports last month — Lean & Fit, Athletic Training, Exercise Injury Risks — which in combination with its Weight Loss package and Longevity package for healthy aging, provide tailored reports for virtually every fitness goal or wellness concern.

“Following the release of the DNA fitness reports, we saw a need to train our partners so they could immediately begin using the resource with their clients,” said Shayan Mashatian, CEO of Silverberry. “Since the fitness packages provide a wealth of information and we wanted to get providers up-to-speed quickly, we employed a Learning-by-Example method of teaching that makes the course approachable for fitness enthusiasts and beginners without a genetics background. We introduce you to a few personas with common fitness goals, our Silverberry Club members as we affectionately call them, and using genetic reports generated by real DNA files, walk you step-by-step through designing and adjusting a fitness plan,“ he continued.

The “DNA and Genetic Assessment for Fitness” course reviews basic concepts in genetics that are necessary to understand clients’ genetic profile and encounter you with the challenges in interpreting the files in real world. Having a background in health science is an asset to understand this course content but the course is understandable for a variety of health and fitness professionals such personal trainers, nutritionists, physicians, dietitians, wellness coaches and fitness enthusiasts to learn how to include assessment of genetic traits as an additional layer of information when designing and assessing a wellness plan.

The course includes two hours of video, divided into five lessons, and a few quiz questions after each segment intended to ensure viewer comprehension every step of the way.

The course is available on Udemy and a certification is issued for successful completion of  the course. It can be viewed online using a computer, mobile device, or TVs connected to the internet.
